Abu Nawas Street

Abu Nawas Street is located in eastern Baghdad near the Al Karrada district and intersects with the suspension bridge. This street was named in memory of one of the most important poets of the Abbasid era, Al-Hassan bin Hani (his nickname is Abu Nawas). This street has been one of the most critical areas for Iraqis to spend their nights and day, as cafes, nightclubs, restaurants, shoppers, and gardens with different monuments, theatres, cinemas, and entertainment, extend along the street on the shore of the Tigris River, all this to the sounds of songs by famous Iraqi singers.
